Sur Distance Over Time, leur nouvel album qui est sorti le 22 février, Dream Theater semble avoir renouvelé sa créativité, sans renier les éléments qui leur ont valu une base de fans aussi passionnée aux quatre coins du monde.

La récente sortie du 14e album studio des géants de la musique progressive, qui ont écoulé des millions d’albums et ont été nominés deux fois aux Grammy Awards, a suscité beaucoup d’enthousiasme. Distance Over Time s’est ainsi classé en tête du hit-parade en Allemagne et en Suisse, en troisième position aux Pays-Bas et en huitième position en FLANDRE et en WALLONIE.

Véritables pionniers du metal progressif, les membres de Dream Theater – James LaBrie (voix), John Petrucci (guitare), Jordan Rudess (clavier), John Myung (basse) et Mike Mangini (batterie) – ont une relation unique avec l’une des bases de fans les plus dévouées au monde, comme en témoignent leurs deux nominations aux GRAMMY® Awards et leurs 15 millions de disques vendus dans le monde. L’album Images & Words, sorti en 1992, a été certifié disque d’or et a été classé par Rolling Stone dans sa liste très convoitée des « 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All-Time ».

En 2009, Black Clouds & Silver Linings a atterri en sixième place du Billboard Top 200, tandis que ses successeurs, A Dramatic Turn of Events (2011) et Dream Theater (2013), se sont eux aussi classé dans le top 10 des charts. Le site Consequence of Sound a qualifié The Astonishing (2016) d’« expérience résolument unique ». En plus de trois DVD certifiés disques de platine et deux certifiés disques d’or, le groupe a été intronisé au Long Island Music Hall of Fame en 2010. DREAM THEATER INVITES SPECIAL GUESTS FOR EUROPEAN SUMMER FESTIVALS 

Band To Include Special Guests Jason Richardson ft. Luke Holland and Andy McKee Beginning June 2019

Dream Theater, two-time GRAMMY-nominated and millions-selling progressive music forerunners are set to kick off their European festival tour, beginning in Solvesborg, Sweden on June 7th.  Performing over 30 concerts in the nearly two month span, each date will feature a specially curated set list of material spanning the band’s illustrious career as titans of the Prog genre.  Each festival performance will have the band playing to a fresh audience throughout Europe, presenting not only established catalog classics, but also new fan favorites from the band’s most recent studio album, the 14th in their history, Distance Over Time.  Distance Over Time showcases a newfound creativity for Dream Theater while maintaining the elements that have garnered them devoted fans around the world.  The album also marks the first for the band’s new label InsideOut Music/Sony Music.

The band look forward to bringing their show to Europe for the Summer festival season, and in many cases, with some special guest participation.  Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess reveals that the band « are incredibly excited about these upcoming European festivals that will feature great friends of ours, some fantastic musicians!”  Expanding on the quote, founding member, producer, and guitarist John Petrucci identifies the specific artists Dream Theater invited to perform with them on some select dates throughout June and July, enthusiastically stating that “Some of my personal favorite players who I’ve had the pleasure of sharing stages with have agreed to come out to Europe with us.  We can’t wait to bring this amazing show to our fans in Europe, and I’m incredibly excited that we get to do so alongside some unbelievable artists like Andy McKee and Jason Richardson »
